Art, it's endless creativity, no limits. It means I can constantly keep my creative side working, always expand on that
Then there's the helping people thing... does art help people? I wouldn't say in a "direct" sort of way, i'm not inventing anything to save the world, not helping feed the poor, not getting people out of fires haha, or fixing broken knees. Though to me, art means everything and nothing. Everything, in that there's no limits, nothing in that, it's something very pure. Even blank canvases have been sold as art, I think that's awesome. It's pure nothingness, potentiality. To me that's the beauty of art. It inspires, it gives rise to realisation of potential, sound and pictures (or anything) that actually move people. Something out of nothing.
About that nothing... One of my teachers once said "it's not the notes themselves, but the space between them that counts". To me that's one of the most beautiful statements. Art is more than just what we see on a canvas, more than just the time we spend listening to our Ipod, it's a way of life. Does one need be an artist to live the lifestyle of one? Hells no. Everything is art, nothing is art. What's more beautiful than the pure potentiality out of which everything arises
